Information for people living with HIV in NSW & COVID-19

People living with HIV:

  • Keep up your regular health checks, testing, skin checks, monitoring your health and follow-ups. Any new symptoms should not be ignored. Make an appointment today to follow up on your healthcare needs.
  • Changes in your routine and unusual life events are times where we are more likely to miss our medication. This is a time to be a little more vigilant about taking your meds. If you take a daily medication and miss a dose at your regular time, but remember within 10 hours, take your medication immediately. For example, if you usually take medication at 7am, then you'll have until 5 pm to take it. If you miss this window, just take it at the time it is next due i.e. at 7am the next day. Do not double dose, there will be enough medication in your body to cover that 24 hour period. If you are finding it difficult and missing a lot of doses speak to our Treatments Officer [This email address is being protected from spambots. • Most general practices are referring people to the local COVID-19 community testing centres. This has freed up doctors to take care of your usual needs and anything that might be something other than COVID-19. To find your nearest testing centre, visit
