Positive Life NSW creates a range of practical health information to support people with HIV. Our health information is grouped into Campaign work and HIV Health Series. Ordering of hard copies is subject to current stocks and is available using the Resources Order Form below and is free of charge in NSW. Interstate or large orders will be invoiced for postage costs.
Campaigns
The next Positive Life NSW campaign SERO DISCO 2 will launch in early June 2012. Looking after each other in serodiscordant relationships (where one partner is HIV positive and one partner is HIV negative) includes everything from communication to condoms. In SERO DISCO 2 we try to give you some practical answers to questions you might have asked yourself at some time. Can I still pass on HIV if my last viral load test is ‘undetectable’? How safe is oral sex? Is pulling out okay? Can I stay negative in a serodiscordant relationship? How do I talk about changes in our relationship?
Would you like to participate in a new study? Opposites Attract is a globally unique study exploring HIV treatments, viral load, and HIV transmission in serodiscordant gay male relationships. For more information please visit: www.oppositesattract.net.au
Our social marketing campaigns draw on the practices and learning of people with HIV. The materials reflect on issues and experiences such as the anxieties and challenges of living with HIV today; including the stresses before getting tested for HIV or dealing with a new diagnosis, as well as topics such as changing approaches to sex and relationships and living long term. People with HIV share the strategies, skills and learnings that have worked for them.
HIV Health Series
The latest in our HIV Health Series discusses HIV and cancer. As the HIV population ages there is an increasing risk of other health conditions like cancer, so regular monitoring is even more important. This fact sheet is based on personal experiences and clinical expertise. It offers information on cancer prevention, monitoring and management, and shares some strategies on dealing with a cancer diagnosis, and enhancing quality of life. Read more.
We are currently updating our HIV Health Series. Please note some of these are now available online only. Please refer to the Resources Order Form below for availablity and ordering. The series is designed to help you easily access information and raise your awareness and knowledge of issues that impact on your health and wellbeing. We engage in partnerships to bring together current information from researchers, healthcare professionals and people with HIV to produce these for you.
