Women living with HIV are able to conceive, carry and birth a healthy child free of HIV. Serodiscordant couples, where one partner is living with HIV and the other is HIV-free also have many options to prevent onward HIV transmission, including pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and Treatment as Prevention (TasP). The science is clear: having an undetectable viral load means that there is zero risk of sexual transmission of HIV.
