Gareth is a gay man who has been living with HIV since 2014 and a valued member of the Positive Life NSW Positive Speakers Bureau (PSB) team.  Originally from New Zealand, Gareth moved to Melbourne in 2004. He has been a PSB speaker with Positive Living Victoria since 2015.

He has worked in both the airline and medical industries since relocating to Australia. Gareth realised after he was diagnosed with HIV, he had some outdated knowledge and thoughts about HIV. He saw the need for education in the wider community and believes one of the most powerful tools against HIV stigma which is still associated with sex and STIs, is to have an open and honest conversation about it.
